The course will include the integration of such issues as nursery culture, site preparation, planting, monitoring, logistics, personnel training, and the carrying out of operational trials to improve reforestation success in temperate and tropical countries.
It will provide management leadership, technical, and scientific training for the participants in the areas of nursery management and reforestation.
This course is equally applicable to forestry restoration and agroforestry programs.
Participants will have numerous opportunities to visit nurseries and reforestatioin projects throughout the area.
The NTC staff have been involved in worldwide nursery and
reforestation programs and are interested in continued
involvement in this area. In addition, they are planning an
international reforestation course to be held on the campus of
Oregon State University.
